Game Day


Welcome to the Game Day section of the PLPA web site. Game Day is a segment that features players and how they prepare for games including what they do during the day of a game as a chronology.

This segment will feature Brock Robertson's of the Albany Attack.

Brock Robertson's Game Day


7:30 a.m.
- Wake-up and watch sports highlights for a half hour. Always have a glass of O.J.

8:00 a.m.
- Go for a light pre-game 15 minute jog, then stretch

8:30 a.m.
- Eat breakfast: 4 pieces of bacon, 8 egg whites, and two pieces of toast.

9:00 a.m.
- Shower, shave, and get ready for school.

9:30 a.m.
- Do some school work or some reading for an hour or so.

10:30 a.m.
- Arrive at Pepsi Centre for morning practice. Always make sure both sticks are not broken and are shooting properly.

2:00 p.m.
- shut it down for a couple of hours.

11:00 a.m.
- Practice with the team, get a good sweat on and start mentally preparing for the game.

12:30 p.m.
- Catch the bus for pre-game lunch at the Macaroni Grill with the team. Joke around with the boys about the past weeks festivities, and chat about the upcoming game.

2:00 p.m.
- Head back to the hotel room for pre-game power nap. Usually an hour to an hour and a half.

3:30 p.m.
- Wake-up and start thinking about the game. I workout my strategies, plays and goals on a pad of paper to help me clarify my job on the floor that night.

5:00 p.m.
- Arrive at the Pepsi center. Get dressed for light warm-up and drink lots of water. Shoot the ball around and loosen up.

6:15 p.m.
- Full stretch and warm-up with the team.

7:00 p.m.
- Finish warm-up, sit at my stall and visualize my play in the game, wait for pre-game talk.

7:15 p.m.
- Coaches and team captains speak about game plan, strategy, and match-ups. Everyone gets pumped-up and we head to the floor, ready for a win for our fans.

7:30 p.m.
- Start the game.

10:00 p.m.
- The game is over and we shake hands with our opponents, then we head into the room for food and to recap the game.

11:00 p.m.
- Head to the post-game party for some festivities with family, friends and fans.
