Game Day


Welcome to the Game Day section of the PLPA web site. Game Day is a segment that features players and how they prepare for games including what they do during the day of a game as a chronology.

This segment will feature veteran Troy Cordingley of the expansion Albany Attack.

Troy Cordingley's Game Day



7:00 a.m.
- wake up, shower and get ready

7:15 a.m.
- eat breakfast (always 2 bowls of Grain Shop cereal, banana, orange juice and yogurt)
- read sports section of paper

8:00 a.m.
- depart for the airport

9:00 - 10:00 a.m.
- check in at the airport and fly to destiniation - drink a bottle of water before flight

11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
- arrive at destination and go to hotel

12:30 p.m.
- light lunch - sandwich on whole wheat bread, 2 pieces of fruit, bottle of gatorade

1:00 p.m.
- play some cards with teammates (Skat) or play Play Station

2:30 p.m.
- team luncheon (always pasta, salad, juice,coffee with honey, fruit0 - team meeting

3:30 p.m.
- nap time - fall asleep watching anything to do with sports

5:00 p.m.
- wake up - make a coffee with honey - get ready to go to game

5:45 p.m.
- depart for game - always call shotgun to get front passenger seat

6:00 p.m.
- arrive at arena and sit in same spot in all arenas - chew on a pack of juicy fruit,
drink some gatorade - get ready for light warm up

6:15 p.m.
- light warm up by myself - stretch, warm up my stick

6:45 p.m.
- go back into dressing room - have fruit and water - read sports section of paper

7:15 p.m.
- team warm up - after goalies I'm the first out of the dressing room - always stretch beside a rookie

7:45 p.m.
- go back into dressing room - eat another fruit and drink a carbo drink - no one is allowed to talk to me as I'm mentally preparing for the game

8:00 p.m.
- game time - after goalies I'm the first player out of the dressing room

8:05 p.m.
- after national anthem I go to the center floor and write the same message every game
with my stick for good luck.

10:15 p.m.
- finished game and stretch - also drink lots of water so I don't cramp

11:30 p.m.
- go to post game party to meet and talk with the fans
